Easy Fruit Pizzas
These Easy Fruit Pizzas are delicious, easy to make and fun for everyone! They come together very quickly with store bought sugar cookie dough (the title does say “Easy” after all) and are topped with homemade cream cheese frosting and sliced fruit. A delicious and fun treat everyone will enjoy!
Since we’ve been at home more than ever, I have had to get a little creative with activities to keep the boys’ attention (otherwise I will be playing baseball 24/7)!
All I can say is thank goodness for Busy Toddler and Days with Grey! They are 2 mom bloggers who come up with the most ingenious activities for kids. If you are a parent looking for some ideas to keep your kids busy – check them out. I absolutely love their ideas!!

Who knew painters tape had more than one use?! Sometimes, I create a road and sometimes I let the kids go crazy. The beauty of it all is that no damage can be done and there is lots of fun to be had!

The activity below was a fun one from Days with Grey. I just took a simple ice cube tray and put various colored and sized pom poms (the sparkly ones were definitely the biggest hit) in the tray. I froze those pom poms in water and then gave the boys squirt bottles filled with hot water. Pom pom rescue commenced! Jack and Will loved this – it was the perfect outdoor activity!
I have been working with Will on his letters a lot lately. Busy Toddler gave me the idea for this Alphabet Scavenger Hunt. Will runs around the house like a mad-man trying to find all the different letter post-it notes.
Then, he has to bring them back and match up the letters on the sheet. After he has done all that, he gets to practice writing them. While this is a little elementary for Jack, he absolutely loves to help Will with this activity!
The boys adored this fun shaving cream activity from Days with Grey. We have foam blocks like these ones. I brought them outside and gave each of the boys a bottle of shaving cream.
I told them that the shaving cream was their “mortar” between the “bricks” and they got to work building. The best part (besides it occupying them for about 30 minutes) was the easy cleanup with the hose!
Another way I like to keep the boys busy is by having them help me in the kitchen. These Easy Fruit Pizzas are a perfect way to start getting your kids involved in the kitchen. You can make homemade sugar cookies if you would like, but I prefer to use Pillsbury Sugar Cookies.
I think they taste delicious AND they are way easier to make – all you have to do is take them out of the package, put them on a tray and pop them in the oven. Does it get any easier than that?!
Not only is it fun to have your kids help you make these individual fruit pizzas, but the decorating part is even better. I find that it works best if I frost the cookies with the cream cheese frosting and let them go to town decorating them with fruit.
Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients
- cream cheese
- butter (unsalted)
- white sugar
- vanilla
Whip all of these ingredients together until it is nice and smooth. The whipped cream cheese frosting will be the perfect topping for your sugar cookies. Any leftover cream cheese frosting makes the perfect dip for all your cut up fruit.
Types of Fruit
I think berries definitely work best for this recipe. Once you are in the category of berries, pick your favorite. Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries – I typically use a combination of these.
Sugar Cookies
Now, I purposefully named this recipe EASY Fruit Pizzas because I wanted it to be a fun treat/activity that you could do with your kids that would require minimal prep for the parents. Don’t worry fellow parents, I’ve got your back! With that being said, if you have a favorite recipe for sugar cookies, bake away.
Jack and Will loved doing this and they loved eating them even more! I hope you can enjoy this fun (and delicious!!) activity with your kids.
Tips for Involving Kids
- Have them help you put the cookie dough on the cookie sheet.
- Let them mix up the ingredients for the cream cheese frosting.
- Have them help you take the cookies off the cookie sheet with these spatulas – they are the best!!
- When ready to eat the cookies, it is a perfect opportunity to let your kids get creative! I find it works better if I frost the cookie for them and they are in charge of the fruit decoration. Have fun!!
- There is always going to be a mess when you cook with your kids but, like my little guy Will says, “It’s okay Mom, chefs make messes and then they clean it up.” Have fun cooking with your kids!!
