Remember how I grew up with a huge garden in our front yard? If not, you can read about it here. Well, my parents have continued on with that garden even after my siblings and I moved out. And, now, I just have 2 tiny little raised garden beds. Very manageable (although not too many veggies coming my way).
The great thing about my parents living close is that I get an abundance of vegetables and fruit dropped off at my house whenever my parents come to visit (thanks Mom and Dad – you guys are the BEST)! This time we got a whole ton of carrots!!

Thanksgiving Side Dish
Preparing a Thanksgiving meal is hard work. Making sure everything is served hot. Ensuring that there is enough oven space. Timing everything perfectly. Your side dishes should not add more difficulty to your Thanksgiving meal prep! That’s why these Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots are the perfect Thanksgiving side dish.
If you buy pre-sliced carrots (or slice them ahead of time), this dish will come together in under five minutes. Everyone will love this side dish and come back for seconds.
How to Make Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots:
- If you want to go the quick and easy route, buy pre-sliced carrots. If that isn’t your style, I highly recommend using a mandolin. I held off on buying one for years (I was afraid I would slice off my finger), but I finally did. This is the one I have and I love it.
- After your carrots are sliced to your liking, melt the butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the carrots and the brown sugar and cook until the carrots have a bit of a char.
- Enjoy warm!
My boys gobble these up and always ask for seconds. I have learned to double or triple this recipe because otherwise we run out of them at dinner. Okay enough talk about carrots, I’m off to go eat an entire bowl of them (I seriously am going to)! Hope you enjoy these brown sugar glazed carrots!
